THE MANDT SYSTEM®/Crisis Prevention & De-Escalation Training
The Mandt System® is a comprehensive, integrated approach to preventing, de-escalating, and if necessary, intervening when the behaviour of an individual poses a threat of harm to themselves and/or others. The focus of The Mandt System® is on building healthy relationships between all the stakeholders in human service settings in order to facilitate the development of an organizational culture that provides the emotional, psychological, and physical safety needed in order to teach new behaviours to replace the behaviours that are labeled “challenging”.
The Mandt System® integrates knowledge about the neurobiological impact of childhood trauma with the principles of positive behaviour support and provides a relational framework that empowers service providers to do their work in a way that minimizes the use of coercion in behaviour change methodologies. Over 80% of what we teach focuses on prevention and de-escalation, and we encourage all people, including families and individuals served, to receive this training.
We support organizations to improve the quality of life of all the stakeholders in the organization: individuals served, staff, families and friends of the person served. When behavioural challenges arise, The Mandt System® can help you find respectful solutions and then share these with everyone.
WHAT WE OFFER
Through our MSA (MANDT STUDENT ACADEMY) we are able to offer Accredited Certification to organizations or students in the province of ALBERTA, CANADA.
Our MSA enables an organization to be able to send as few as one or more of their staff for Crisis Prevention and De-Escalation Training without being weighed down by extra work within their company to train their own in-house Instructors who may not have the experience in Crisis Prevention and/or De-Escalation training.

With our MSA (Mandt Student Academy) at RENAERTS CONSULTING & TRAINING CENTRE, you will be receiving professional instructional training from a specialized Instructional trainer with over 13 years' experience as a Certified Instructor in The Mandt System® who has trained over 2600 students. Your trainer has also specialized in the field of Complex Behavioural Needs for over 30 years.

Healthcare: We understand that the challenges presented in the ER are different to those in Adolescent Behavioral health units. This is why we have developed content pathways appropriately nuanced to different health service areas but underpinned by the same Relational and Safety based concepts.
Education: Behavioural issues presented in mainstream education settings are not the same as in special education. Our education based experts have created specialized content and support resources to appropriately meet the Relational and Safety needs of any education environment.
Human Services: Pre School to Elderly Care and everything in between like disabilities & Mental Health represents the enormous diversity of the Social Care field. All training days are 8-hours in length & all students must attend ALL 8-hours of a training day to be certified & tested.
