- Understanding the Behaviour Window.
- Distinguish between Acceptable and Unacceptable Behavior.
- Determine who “owns the problem” in a given situation.
- Recognize when a child needs help VS is Misbehaving
- Identify the Roadblocks to Communication.
- Avoid the Roadblocks that cause most helping attempts to fail.
- Use silence, acknowledgments and door-openers to help their child with a problem.
- Active Listening to hear a child’s feelings and to clarify information.
- Learning how to use Appreciative I-Messages & Preventive I-Messages.
- Modify environments to prevent problems and conflicts.
- Determine what to do when a child’s behaviour is interfering with family life
- Recognizing Stages for Conflict Resolution.
- Identify between Conflicts-of-Needs & Values Collisions.
